I have driven the new 718 Boxster GTS which finally shows the return of a naturally aspirated flat six, and as such for those purest provides what can only be described as the return of the long missed sweet sound of a true sports car.  This new version produces spectacular notes compared to the more boring boxster models the 2.0 and 2.5 turbo versions, again personally I have driven each extensively. And in my opinion Porsche have a real winner in the 4.0 version, which doesn’t only deliver the right noise but delivers true brute force when required.

Porsche have retained the standard Porsche Boxster and S versions which still utilize the turbo charged 2.0 and 2.5l four cylinder engine. But both are poor in comparison to this new version, following the development of a flat-six engine for the Boxster Spyder and the Cayman GT4 Porsche wisely included this setup in the new Boxster GTS.  The Boxster GTS is a 4.0 manual version is a monster on country roads, in fact the experience over all was every bit as good as that if the Lamborghini hurricane, but for far less money - I say this in no jest having owned one for over two years.

With the new 718 flat 6 Boxster GTS provides near Sypder performance but with handing much smoother and rounder than the hardcore siblings as such it provides a smoother everyday-acceptable ride over multiple road conditions.  The interior is also supremely comfortable which adds to the overall excellent feel of this car and lends it to being the perfect mix of an everyday car but one which can and does provide masses of excitement which is available on tap when required.

In our opinion, should you be questioning the decision as whether to purchase one of these cars the answer is a definitive yes.  With its pure-bred flat-six and the ability to thrill on demand, combined with its everyday useability, it really is a fantastic all-rounder that is sure to put a smile on many an owner's face.
